Reducing the stress of dealing with cancer is one of the most important things you can do to improve the quality of your life. Whether you are a patient or a caregiver, you can participate in our fitness, meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, visualization/guided imagery, Qi Gong and other stress reducing classes. Mind-Body techniques for stress reduction are a form of "complementary medicine." A rapidly growing body of research tells us that mind-body practices can reduce stress and anxiety, and may improve one's immune response. These practices can help improve your quality of life and help you manage side effects, which may in turn help keep you on your treatment schedule, and perhaps increase your opportunity for a longer and stronger life after cancer.
